The Via Turonensis(or Way of Tours) is one of the four main French pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela. Starting from the bell tower of the old church of Saint-Jacques-la-Boucherie in Paris, it links in its current version Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port in the French Basque Country, via Orleans, Poitiers, Bordeaux and especially Tours which gave its name to the path.

Markup
In France, the Via Turonensis is listed by the Fédération Française de Randonnée Pédestre under the name GR 655. The markings therefore follow the color code of French long-distance hiking trails, namely white and red. Depending on the region, it can also be supplemented by a color code specific to the ways of Saint James, namely blue and yellow.

Paris-Massy
(Distance: approx 16 km • Altitude: between 93 and 135 m)
- 1 Paris (36 m) (Saint-Jacques Tower) – The route to Tours traditionally begins from the bell tower of the old church dedicated to Saint Jacques.
The path then descends rue Saint-Martin, then crosses Île de la Cité and joins rue Saint-Jacques. From the south of Paris, the urban density then allows easy access to Massy notably via the Coulée Verte which connects the two towns via Malakoff, Châtillon, Bagneux, Fontenay-aux-Roses, Sceaux, Châtenay-Malabry, Antony and Verrières-le-Buisson.

Flamboyant Gothic style, it survived the destruction of the church in 1797. Today located in a square, the tower houses under its porch a statue of Blaise Pascal which recalls the barometric experiments he carried out following those made at Puy de Dôme.
