Visperterminen is a Swiss village in the canton Valais.

That was in the 19th century Valais structurally weak and far removed from industrialization in other parts of the country and in the Europe except for Switzerland. This was the case in Visperterminen as in many others Valais Villages are very poor. As a result, around a quarter of the village population immigrated in the 1850s Argentina and founded the place there San Jerónimo Norte. Some residents still care for in San Jerónimo Norte the Visperterminer dialect.
Around 1990, the “Tärniners” - that's what the residents of Visperterminen call themselves - lived following the cycle of farm work from “bottom to top”, so depending on the season they were on the move between the valley floor and the high mountain pastures. The traces of this nomadic life can be found everywhere. The landscape is characterized by a multitude of paths and paths, and the infrastructure of the settlements reflects this way of life. For example, to this day you can still find a chapel, a "driel" (grape press) and a distillery in every hamlet.

The A9 motorway is only partially completed in this area of the Rhone Valley. However, a national road runs along the entire Rhone Valley. Of Visp from there is a mountain road in the direction of Visperterminen. In winter, depending on the weather, snow chains may be required.

High above Visperterminen, near the Gebidempass at around 2200 m above sea level. M. is the Gebidemsee, surrounded by a fantastic mountain backdrop. Enjoy the silence by the lake and outsmart one or the other fish.
Model flight
The Gebidempass is located above Visperterminen. Here the wind rises directly from the ground 650 m up to the pass. Even in a light wind, it can therefore be wonderfully flown. Landing is no problem even for the less experienced and 8 m tall sailors, as there is a large plateau on the pass. Just the thing for the first flights of new models.
