Signposted long-distance hiking trails
- South West Coastal Path (SWC): along the south coast Cornwalls, 966 km, some Brits make it their business to run the SWC completely in sections. One part would be the SWC of Padstock to Falmouth (262 km, 9-14 days) to run.
- Cleveland Way: 180 km from Helmsley to Scarborough/ Filey
- Cumbrian Way: 116 km, 5 days in Lake District of Ulverston to Carlisle.
- Cumberland Way also in the Lake District of Ravenglass to Appleby.
- Pennine Way: Of Edale in England across north to Kirk Yetholm to the Scottish border, 3 weeks 400 km.
- Cotswold Way 166 km from Chipping Camden to Bath.
- Southdown Way: 165 km in South East England of Eastbourne to Winchester (also possible by bike).
- Hadrian's Wall Path: 135 km from Newcastle upon Tyne to Bowness-on-Solway along the Hadrian's Wall.
- West Highland Way: 154 km from Milngavie (at Glasgow) to Fort William.
Other long-distance hiking trails
The Coast to Coast Walk leads about 300 km from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay. It runs through the Lake District as well as two other national parks, is known for its diversity and can be hiked in 14 days, despite some mountainous sections.
