TheEpirus (Ήπειρος) is a periphery (region) in the northwest of the Greece, at the border albanian. It is gradually opening up, with the creation of a motorway that connects it to central Greece.

Understand

In French, 'Ήπειρος' translates to 'continent'. The region is so named because the inhabitants are perceived by those of the islands as mainlanders.

Epirus was re-annexed by Greece in 1913 and retains traces of Ottoman culture.

The campsite of Ioannina is located by the lake, west of the old town. It is quite well signposted from the entrance to the city. Count ten euros a night in tent. We fall asleep to the noise of the bar / nightclub and we wake up to the sound of planes. Adequate sanitary facilities.
