Île and Avroy is a district of Cork in Belgium.

Understand

Île et Avroy is the part of the city which extends, on either side of the old river arm of the "Sauvenière", between the Meuse, to the east, and the foot of the fluvial slope to the Where is. It includes the old medieval quarter of Isle inhabited since the middle of the X^e century, also known as the "Latin Quarter of Liège", and which is the center of student and intellectual life but also the second major commercial center Intramural. This part also includes the more recent district of Avroy which owes its development to the filling of the arms of the Meuse and to the construction, instead, of large boulevards and numerous parks. The other districts are Jonfosse, Saint-Gilles and that of Guillemins. The latter is undergoing great change and incorporates the most recent buildings such as the monumental Guillemins station or even the Paradise tower who, with his 136 m tall is the tallest skyscraper in Wallonia and the 5^e from Belgium.

Not only is it the oldest funfair in the country, it dates back to 1594 as such, but it is also the largest in terms of the number of fairgrounds present with more than 175 attractions and restaurants. The total length of the farms, placed end to end, is around two kilometers. As for attendance, each year it attracts a number of visitors greater than 1 500 000 part of which expressly comes from Brussels, of Maastricht and D'Aachen to the call of the slogan of the fair: "Go through Liège, we're going to the fair!"
