Środa Śląska (German: Neumarkt in Silesia) is a historic city in the polish Voivodeship Lower Silesia in the valley of the middle Or. The place is particularly known for its medieval old town and the Neumarkt city charter, which served as a model for numerous other cities founded in Poland in the 13th century.
