Aichtal is a small town on the eastern edge of the Schönbuch, it was created in 1975 by merging the three parishes Aich, Grötzingen and Neuenhaus.

The city of Aichtal is located on the Aichthat at Holzgerlingen rises, flows from west to east through the Schönbuch and at Nürtingen flows into the Neckar.
