Altrip

Altrip is a community in Rhineland-Palatinate. It is located in a loop of the Rhine south of Ludwigshafen and is the easternmost parish of Rhineland-Palatinate. The Mannheim district is located to the north and east of Altrip Neckarau with the large power station in Mannheim. Altrip has been part of the Rheinauen community since 2014.

The place name "Altaripa" (high bank) can be traced back to the 5th century as the location of a Roman fort. The 49.43258.503611 Altrip Castle was built towards the end of the 4th century, it was part of the Danube-Iller-Rhine-Limes.
