Bad Abbach is a popular health resort in Lower Bavaria. The small town is on the Danube between Kelheim and regensburg.

background

Bad Abbach with its Kaiser-Therme is a sulfur mud bath. The healing springs were discovered by the Celts over 2000 years ago and were used by Emperor Charles V in the 16th century, which gave the thermal bath its current name.

There are two hills near the center of the village: on one, to the north, there is the castle ruins of Ludwig des Kelheimers; on the other the spa and several health clinics.
