Bad Emstal is a small health resort on the river Ems southwest of Kassel. The community is very scenic in the Habichtswald Nature Park.

By train

From Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe long-distance train station perverts the Bus route 52 to Bad Emstal. The railway line to Bad Emstal and Naumburg is only used as a museum railway.

In the street

  • from Kassel: Drive on the B 520 to Schauenburg-Breitenbach. At the exit of Breitenbach, turn left onto the country road towards Bad Emstal (approx. 25 km from Kassel city center).

There are beautiful hiking opportunities around Bad Emstal, such as the premium hiking trail Habichtswaldsteig with the local extra tour H 6 (round tour "In the valley of the sources" with 13 km and 4 hours walking time) or the Eco path peace education Bad Emstal. Attractive destinations for day hikes are:

  • The Observation tower on the Klaus head with a view of Bad Emstal (about 4 km south).
  • Elberberg turret at 51 ° 13 '48 "N.9 ° 12 '54 "E with a view of Naumburg-Elberberg and the Elbe valley. The castle in Elberberg is, by the way, privately owned and therefore not accessible (about 4 km southwest).
