Bad Laasphe

Bad Laasphe is a Kneipp spa and climatic health resort in the upper Lahn valley in the Rothaar Mountains in North Rhine-Westphalia. The small town is right on the border with Hesse.

The place was first mentioned in a document in 780, and in 1277 Laasphe was granted city rights. Laasphe has been a Kneipp health resort since 1960, and since 1984 the city has been named as a Kneipp medicinal bath and climatic health resort Bad Laasphe. The surrounding villages of Amtshausen, Banfe, Bermershausen, Bernshausen, Feudingen, Fischelbach, Großenbach, Heiligenborn, Herbertshausen, Hesselbach, Holzhausen, Kunst-Wittgenstein, Niederlaasphe, Oberndorf, Puderbach, Rückershausen, Rüppershausen, Saßmannshausen, Steinbach, Volkholz and Weide became part of Bad in 1975 Laasphe incorporated.

The one created in 2001 runs through the Bad Laasphe area Rothaarsteig.
