Bad Laasphe is a Kneipp spa and climatic health resort in the upper Lahn valley in the Rothaar Mountains in North Rhine-Westphalia. The small town is right on the border with Hesse.

The place was first mentioned in a document in 780, and in 1277 Laasphe was granted city rights. Laasphe has been a Kneipp health resort since 1960, and since 1984 the city has been named as a Kneipp medicinal bath and climatic health resort Bad Laasphe. The surrounding villages of Amtshausen, Banfe, Bermershausen, Bernshausen, Feudingen, Fischelbach, Großenbach, Heiligenborn, Herbertshausen, Hesselbach, Holzhausen, Kunst-Wittgenstein, Niederlaasphe, Oberndorf, Puderbach, Rückershausen, Rüppershausen, Saßmannshausen, Steinbach, Volkholz and Weide became part of Bad in 1975 Laasphe incorporated.
The one created in 2001 runs through the Bad Laasphe area Rothaarsteig.
getting there
- Bad Laasphe can be reached by car from the A45 (Dortmund - Frankfurt am Main) 23 Dillenburg and further on B253 towards Biedenkopf and B62 to Bad Laasphe.
- With the Deutsche Bahn from the north Wins and Erndtebrück, from the south across Marburg. The 1 Bad Laasphe train station is about 500 m from the town center.
- The begins 20 km west of the city Lahn valley cycle pathwho continues about Marburg, Wetzlar and Limburg to Lahnstein at Koblenz leads where the Lahn flows into the Rhine.

The artisanal brewery uses natural hops instead of hop extract, lets its beers ferment cold for seven days and cold aging for at least five weeks (instead of warm pressure fermentation and two weeks of rapid maturation), and does not pasteurize its beers.
