Lahnstein is a city in Rhineland-Palatinate at the confluence of Rhine and Lahn in the Middle Rhine Valley with the districts of Oberlahnstein, Niederlahnstein and Friedrichssegen.

The ferry Ober- and Niederlahnstein - Koblenz-Stolzenfels has been in operation since autumn 2010 set.
The ferryman gave up his business for reasons of age and sold the ferry. In Lahnstein it is no longer possible to cross the Rhine. Next crossing options:

Upstream: ferry Boppard, until then cycle path partly directly on the B42

Oberlahnstein (District south of the Lahn):
- 1 the Salhof is a Franconian royal court, which was first mentioned in 977. You can also find the at the square of the same name Witch tower, the Coin fountain and the new one Lahnstein town hall.
- 2 Old Town Hall, a very well preserved half-timbered building from the 15th century
- 3 Martin's Castle, a complex built as a customs castle in 1298 and part of the city fortifications
- 4 St. Martin, the Catholic parish church with late Romanesque towers from 1190
- 5 City wall house, built around 1700, used to serve as a hostel for the night watchmen
- 6 Lahneck - Lahn confluence with the Rhine. The tip lies on a narrow headland between the Rhine and the Lahnstein port.
- 7 Lahneck Castle - above the Lahn, built between 1240 and 1245. Glass and panel paintings in the chapel built in 1245. From 1852 the entire castle was rebuilt in the English neo-Gothic style.

Note on 1 former observation tower light head The tower offered a unique view of the entire region. For security reasons, the tower was first closed in July 2008 and then finally in the spring of 2010 by the technical relief organization on behalf of City blown up.
