The small town Bad Lobenstein is in a beautiful location on the Lemnitz and not far from the Bleilochtalsperre in the Thuringian Slate Mountains. The mud bath has only had the official title since 2005 bath.

Only four kilometers east of the city can be reached via the B 90 die Bleilochtalsperre. The Bleilochtalsperre is the largest reservoir in Germany in terms of capacity, which is why it is also jokingly called the “Thuringian Sea”.
