Bad Nenndorf is a health resort in Lower Saxony and lies on the border of the two regions Calenberger Bergland (as part of the Weser Uplands) and des Schaumburger Land at the north end of the Deister.
background
The North German Plain begins north of Bad Nenndorf. The city with its districts Horsten, Riepen and Waltringhausen is part of the Schaumburg district.
getting there
By plane
The nearest airport is that Hanover-Langenhagen Airport. From there by car you can take the A 352 and the A 2 (direction Dortmund) to the Bad Nenndorf exit. With public transport you can take the S-Bahn to Hanover main station and from there via Weetzen or Haste to Bad Nenndorf. However, you have to change trains in Haste.
By train
Bad Nenndorf is on the S-Bahn lines S1 and S2 from Hanover about Weetzen and Barsinghausen after Haste. In Haste you can reach the regional express trains and the S-Bahn from Minden above Stadthagen to Wunstorf and Hanover.
Connections in the direction of Bremen are also reached in Wunstorf.
By bus
Buses go from Bad Nenndorf to Stadthagen, Rinteln, Lauenau, Haste and Hanover (Empelde). However, these buses only run irregularly. There is also a citizens' bus in Bad Nenndorf.
