trips

  • Draisine route Extertal - The 18 km long route leads from Rinteln-Süd (located at 59 m above sea level) up to Alverdissen at 261 m. In the morning you drive uphill until 14:00. After 2 p.m. all draisines have to turn in the direction of Rinteln. The modern trolleys are made of aluminum and were built by Patria. The light vehicles fitted with pneumatic tires can be lifted by two people. The vehicles are equipped with electronic level crossing protection. So the barriers open and you get right of way on roads. Further information: Side of the "Extertal" museum railway
  • Schaumburg Castle - The well-preserved weir system is located approx. 10 km east of Rinteln on the ridge of the Weser Mountains (beautiful valley view).
