The Berchtesgadener Land Railway (short: SU) is a railway company founded in 2009, which provides transport services on the Freilassing – Berchtesgaden railway line as well as the railway line Rosenheim-Salzburg railway line operates.

The Berchtesgadener Land Bahn GmbH was founded in 2009 as part of the tenders for local transport services by the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund, since then BLB has been operating the newly opened S4 line of the Salzburg S-Bahn. The section of the Berchtesgadener Land Bahn in Austria is included in the tariff of Salzburg Transport Association (SVV) integrated. In addition, the Austrian Federal Railways tariff for train tickets applies in Austria. There is no network tariff on the section between Freilassing and Berchtesgaden Hbf in Germany. The in-house tariff of the Berchtesgadener Land-Bahn applies, which also corresponds to the uniform tariff of Deutsche Bahn AG. Tickets for BLB trains are available:
- In the customer center of Berchtesgadener-Land-Bahn GmbH in Freilassing.
- For conductors on BLB trains when boarding at stations where there are no ticket machines or ticket counters, this applies to all stations between Freilassing-Hofham and Berchtesgaden Hbf.
- Between Freilassing and Salzburg, boarding is only permitted with a valid ticket; these are available at the ticket counters and machines of the ÖBB and Deutsche Bahn, and tickets can also be purchased at the Meridian ticket machines.
- Association tickets of the SVV are also available in tobacconists (tobacco shops in Salzburg) as well as in all other SVV sales outlets and as online tickets in the SVV online shop.

The BLB vehicles have electronic stop displays and are barrier-free with call buttons for wheelchair users, disabled toilets and guidance systems for the blind. The trains have a 1st class compartment, since the Austrian Federal Railways tariff does not provide for 1st class in local transport, the 1st class compartment between Freilassing and Salzburg Hbf can also be used with 2nd class tickets and serves as a rest compartment. It is a 1st class compartment between Freilassing and Berchtesgaden Hbf. The vehicles do not have ticket machines and validators. Boarding between Salzburg Hbf and Freilassing is only permitted with a valid ticket, there are ticket machines and validators of the ÖBB at all stations. Between Freilassing and Berchtesgaden Hbf tickets can be bought or validated from the conductor. Five Stadler Flirt railcars are used at BLB.
