Alpine skiingDownhill skiing represents 43 km spread over 27 slopes (5 green, 9 blue, 9 red and 4 black) between 1,300 and 1 800 m altitude, on the south-eastern slope of the Puy de Sancy, and served by 23 ski lifts providing a maximum flow of 22,000 skiers per hour: 1 20-seater funitel, 3 4-seater chairlifts, one of which has a boarding carpet, 2 fixed 2-seater chairlifts, 17 ski lifts and 320 snow cannons. The ski area extends to Grand Sancy thanks to the link with the Mont-Dore area, located on the northern slope of the Puy de Sancy. 3 ski lifts allow the junction between Super-Besse and Mont-Dore ensuring the link between the 2 ski areas. However, weather conditions sometimes prevent the link from opening, and from taking advantage of 85 km of tracks.
