Understand
La Bourboule is a mid-mountain town located on the Dordogne, in a glacial valley.
It has been autonomous since 1875 after the split of Murat-le-Quaire in two parts, which was at the origin of the development of its spa and casino activity. Known above all as a spa, its activity is however threatened.
The town is labeled: "spa", "green station", "snow village", "Family Plus". It is also a member of the European Association of Historic Spa Towns.
