La Bourboule is a village located in the department of Puy de Dome, in the region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.

La Bourboule is a mid-mountain town located on the Dordogne, in a glacial valley.

It has been autonomous since 1875 after the split of Murat-le-Quaire in two parts, which was at the origin of the development of its spa and casino activity. Known above all as a spa, its activity is however threatened.
