The NordWestBahn runs on the RB 84 line in the direction of Paderborn Hbf., Höxter, Holzminden. The 1 Brakel railway station lies south of the village.

Brakel lies at the intersection of the B 64 with the B 252- Ostwestfalenstrasse. Via the B 252 there is a connection to the BAB A 44 in the south.
