The small town Brand-Erbisdorf is about 6 km south of Freiberg, on a plateau shaped by historical mining in the lower Eastern Ore Mountains. The Erbisdorf ore "Himmelsfürst" was formerly the most important in the Freiberg mining district.
getting there
To get to Brand-Erbisdorf as a driver, you usually have to use Freiberg drive. For long-distance traffic, leave the A4 motorway at the exit Siebenlehn and changes to the B 101, which leads via Freiberg to Brand-Erbisdorf.
Brand-Erbisdorf no longer has a rail connection. The closest train station is Freiberg. There are bus connections there (line B and line F of the Freiberg city transport. Brand-Erbisdorf and Freiberg are in the area of the Verkehrsverbund Mittelachsen (VMS). In the VMS tariff area, network tickets are valid on all public transport in the respective tariff zone. The Saxony (Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia) ticket is also valid on all VMS means of transport.
