The Brombachsee is lying in Franconian Lake District north of the nature park Altmuehltal. The Brombachsee consists of the Großer Brombachsee and the two outflows Kleiner Brombachsee and Igelsbachsee, both of which have a constant water level and are separated from the Großer Brombachsee by dams.
