Pleinfeld is a market in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen. The place is located on the Großer Brombachsee and, along with Gunzenhausen, is an important tourist place in the Franconian Lake District and the largest town on the Großer Brombachsee. Pleinfeld is considered the northern gateway to the Altmühltal Nature Park. With around 8,000 inhabitants, Pleinfeld is the fourth largest town in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district.

By train
The 1 Pleinfeld train station is on the Nuremberg – Treuchtlingen – Augsburg railway line. He belongs to the Transport association for the greater Nuremberg area. The one from the DB Regio AG Bavaria operated regional train or the regional express stops every hour, every half hour during the day. Tourist Attractions
Churches
- 1 St. Nicholas. The church is located in the center of Pleinfeld, north of the market square and northeast of the Spalter Tor, not far from the city wall.
- 2 Petruskirche. The church building was built in the neo-Gothic style and was designed by the architect Peter Schmidt.
- 3 Hueber Chapel. The chapel is a small solid building with a flat gable roof. It was built in the late 19th century and was part of the Wurmmühle estate.
- 4 St. Vitus. The Roman Catholic Church was built on behalf of the Teutonic Order in the 1780s in a classicist style with baroque elements.
- 5 Assumption Day. The church, which is essentially medieval, has been the parish church of the village since 1557. It was restored in 1774 in the Baroque style.

- 6 Old bailiwick castle. The building currently houses the community library, the guest house and the local history and brewery museum. The multi-generation house Pleinfelds has also been housed here since 2006.

- 21 Hohenweiler village chapel. The small chapel made of sandstone blocks was built at the end of the 19th century. The gable roof carries a ridge turret.

- 23 St. Marien (Mannholz). The small chapel made of sandstone blocks was built in 1873. The gable roof carries a ridge turret.
- 24 St. Otto (Mischelbach). Choir tower church made of sandstone blocks.
- 25 St. Josef (Ramsberg). The church is the successor to the small Joseph's chapel from 1723, which was demolished in 1836. The new neo-Romanesque church was built between 1887 and 1888.
- 26 Rectory (St. Veit). The building was erected in 1782 and first used as a school and then as a sextonry.
- 27 Visitation of the Virgin Mary (forehead). The hall church dates from the 11th century. It was badly damaged in the Thirty Years War. It was rebuilt from 1651 to 1652.
