Causapscal is a city of Quebec to Canada
Understand
Causapscal is the second largest city in the Matapedia valley. The name of the city comes from the word Mi'kmaqgoesôpsiag which means "where the stones shine at the bottom of the water".
Story
The place was first developed to serve as high-end private fishing lodges for wealthy people. The first of these was Lord Mount Stephen, a Scottish, who bought several lands bordering the Causapscal and Matapedia rivers. He brought several people to the region to work in his field. It was he who financed the construction of the first chapel, the first school and the bridge spanning the Causapscal river. Subsequently, Causapscal has always been recognized internationally as an ideal place for sport salmon fishing.
