hike
A Hiking suggestion over the Kammweg to Krościenko or. Szczawnica, about 18km.
We start at the entrance of the National parks. The blue ridge path leads us over the Majerzalm to the Szopka Pass, where we cross a yellow path that leads south (right) to "Trzy Korony" hut and Sromowce Niżne descends. To the north (left) is the descent to Kroscienko. But we follow the blue one Hawk path to the three-crown summit and make a loop over the ruins of Zamek Pieninski. This castle should be Kinga, the daughter of the Hungarian King Bela IV, hid from the Tatars. The future queen and wife of king Bolesław V was canonized in 1999. At the end of the loop we meet again on the yellow path that takes us to Kroscienko. If you want to go to Szczawnica, you should take the blue junction in the direction of 15 minutes Sokolica/ Szczawnica pay attention. After the branch broke in September 2018, the Sokolica pine is no longer so photogenic, but the view to the Dunajec Breakthrough is still overwhelming. After visiting the Sokolica let's descend to the river bank. But we have to make sure that the Ferry down at Dunajec brings us to the other side. You can inquire about this at the entrance to the national park in Czorsztyn. The ferry runs from May to October, there is no bridge there. On the other bank there is a cycle path to Szczawnica.
Entry to the national park is free. Low seasonal fees for the three-crown and Sokolica viewing platform.
