Dahme is a seaside resort on the northwestern edge of the Bay of Lübeck, about 20 km northeast of Neustadt in Holstein. Dahme was first mentioned in a document in 1299.

Dahme is a seaside resort with established structures. For every 1,300 inhabitants there are 60,000 bathers and 800,000 overnight stays per year. Due to the wide dune landscapes, the wide beaches and the wide horizon, Dahme is charming, lively and diverse and has a very personal and beneficial effect. The old fishing village with its thatched houses is in harmony with modern architecture. The modern 1.5 km long promenade with its thatched cafes and boutiques is the pulsating heart of the place. The more than 6.5 km long, fine sandy beach characterizes the Baltic Sea spa. The sandy beach merges into an intact, natural dune landscape in the north. A beautiful steep coast connects to the south. Dahme is particularly popular with families with children.

Dahme cannot be reached directly by train. The next train stations are the train stations in 4 Neustadt and in 5 Oldenburg to disposal. Buses run from there Auto power (a DB subsidiary) to Dahme.

Dahme has no port and cannot be reached directly by ship. For pleasure boats there are comfortable berths 16 km away 6 Marina in Groemitz and in 25 km away 7 Grossenbrode.
By bicycle
The Baltic Sea Cycle Route runs through Dahme on its route from the Danish to the Polish border.

Dahme is ideal for pedestrians and cyclists. The car is also possible, albeit less suitable due to the limited number of parking spaces.
Within the village and in the surrounding villages there is the possibility of taking the overland regular buses of the Auto power (Lines 5601 and 5800). However, these offer only a few connections and are not really a viable alternative due to the short distances between the only 3 stops in town.
Tourist Attractions
- The 1 Dahmeshöved lighthouse was built in 1878/79 and is a listed building. It still serves as an orientation light for shipping in the Mecklenburg and Lübeck Bays. The operation of the lighthouse has been automated since 1978. The residential and machine house built onto the tower at the time, as well as an observation tower built in 1939, are used privately today. You can visit the tower with an expert guide from April to October. After climbing 108 steps, you can get married at a height of 30 m.
- The 2 Wittenwiewerbarg (Weisse-Weiber-Berg) is the remnant of a tower hill castle from the 13th / 14th century. It has been a listed building since 1974. It was surrounded by a moat and a wall, today only a small hill can be seen.
- The total length of 205 m 8 Pier leads far out to the Baltic Sea. The first 45 m of this still lead over the beach, but after that you only have water to the right and left and below you. From the head end of the pier there is a great view of Dahme. Here you can wonderfully enjoy sunrises and sunsets in complete peace - you can only hear the rustling of the Baltic Sea. Excursions to Travemünde, Timmendorf and coffee trips along the coast also start from here. - The heart of the place is about 1.5 km long 3 promenade. Various boutiques invite you to shop, from the partially thatched cafes you have a wonderful view of the sandy beach and the vastness of the Baltic Sea. Sections at the north and south end of the promenade are designated as dog beaches, which offer enough space for a carefree stay on the beach.
