Grömitz has been a seaside resort since 1813 and a Baltic spa resort since 1949, making it one of the oldest seaside resorts on the Baltic Sea. Since 2007, Grömitz has formed an administrative community with the three municipalities Dahme, pit and Kellenhusen. Grömitz cannot be reached directly by train. The next train stations are the train stations in 4 Neustadt and in 5 Oldenburg to disposal. Buses run from there Auto power (a DB subsidiary) to Grömitz.

By bus

From Neustadt train station, take the 5800 bus from the railway subsidiary Auto power or with the 5600 bus from Oldenburg in Holstein to Grömitz. From Hamburg ZOB runs Flixbus Several times a day in summer, less often in winter due to demand, to Grömitz.
