In England, the English Heritage organization a large number of castles, monuments, houses etc. belonging to the cultural heritage. These places are open to the public. On the Internet site there is a Map where all these places can be found. A membership of English Heritage gives free access to all cultural heritages that are open. For foreigners it is possible to take out a short-term membership, which gives you free access to these heritages for a fixed amount in a period of 1 or 2 weeks. With the membership, a free manual is supplied with an extensive description of all affiliated sites, a route description and opening hours. You can become a member when you visit one of the sites.
