Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport

The Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport, located 25 kilometers east of Lyon and has numerous connections with the main cities of France and the world.

The airport is named after the aviation pioneer and writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. With around 8.5 million passengers in 2014, it is the fourth busiest airport in France (after the two Paris airports and Nice).

Arrival and departure

By train

From the Saint-Exupéry TGV train station directly at the airport is within half an hour Valence, just under an hour Avignon, a good hour Grenoble and Chambery, 1½ hours from Marseille and just under two hours from Paris.

By tram

Rhônexpress tram

The express tram Rhônexpress (RX) connects the airport every 15 minutes in 29 minutes with the inner-city train station “Part-Dieu” on the east side of the Rhône. A separate tariff applies here: Single journey: € 14.70, children up to 11 years free, young people from 12–25 years: € 13.20, round trip: € 25.90 or € 23.30. By bus

Buses connect the airport with downtown Lyon and other destinations such as Chambery or Grenoble in the French Alps.

With the taxi

The taxi counter is located in front of Terminal 1 and 2, on level 1 in the main hall and open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. The journey to the Eurexpo exhibition center costs around € 40, and the journey to the center costs around € 50–60.
