Most of the passengers are tourists who are brought to the airport by shuttle services from their accommodations. Otherwise the airport is from Mykonos town The best way to get there is by taxi, a journey time of just under 10 minutes. There are only a few bus connections during the main travel season.

The airport is open all year round only from Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air from Athens, in the holiday season from May to the beginning of November it is the destination of charter planes from all over Europe. Mykonos is often just the stopover on the way to other Greek islands. So z. B. recently Condor from Frankfurt am Main airport via Mykonos to Chania airport on Crete. In the holiday season there are also scheduled flights to Thessaloniki, Santorini, Samos, Rhodes and to other vacation destinations in the country.
