Frosinone - Provincial capital Frosinone is less interesting than the two centers described above.
Alatri - Alatri is a large town, 13 km north of Capital. Preserves a pre-Roman acropolis and medieval churches.
Anagni - Homeland of Boniface VIII, Anagni has preserved its historic center intact and is interesting for those who are passionate about art.
Aquino - Aquino is a small town on the highway Rome-Naples which has retained some evidence of its glorious past.
Cassino - 54 km from the capital, Cassino is famous for the famous abbey of Montecassino, destroyed during World War II but rebuilt faithfully following the original scheme. In Cassino there are thermal springs, the Varroniane baths on the site of the villa of Marco Terenzio Varrone.
Ferentino - Ferentino also arouses interest in those who love art; has preserved a wall of the fourth century BC. and a slightly later acropolis.

Other destinations

Arpino - Homeland of the leader Gaius Mario and the speaker Guide, Arpino is today a center of about 7000 inhabitants with an interesting pre-Roman acropolis in its vicinity called Civitavecchia.
Boville Ernica - Near the village is the famous Casamari Abbey.
Monte San Giovanni Campano - Center of the upper Liri valley and at the foot of the Ernici Mountains with interesting religious architecture and a 10th century castle that belonged to the Counts of Aquino who in 1244 segregated their relative, San Tommaso as opposed to the latter's choice to become part of the order of mendicant friars.
Pastena - Tiny village (1500 inhabitants approximately) on the slopes of the Ausoni Mountains (Monte Schierano) famous for the caves of the same name which extend for a length of 4.5 km and which have returned interesting archaeological material from the Neolithic and Bronze Age.
Pico - Pretty village on the edge of the Aurunci National Park, in an area dotted with springs and streams. Pico is a classic destination off the beaten path.
San Donato Val di Comino - Located at the outer limit of the Abruzzo National Park. In secondary valleys are Forca d'Acero and Prati di Mezzo (Picinisco), ski resorts and summer resorts.

On the Via Casilina

Via Casilina, one of the ancient consular roads, closely follows the route of the A1 from Rome to Naples. Assuming you travel it from Rome we will meet the following centers in order: Anagni, Ferentino, Frosinone, Aquino, Cassino.

Frosinone-Sora

From the capital you take the freeway to Sora, which then continues to the Val Roveto in Abruzzo. On secondary branches there are 3 small towns that appear in the ranking of the most beautiful villages in Italy. These are in succession:

Boville Ernica - Nearby you can see the famous Casamari Abbey.
Monte San Giovanni Campano —
San Donato Val di Comino - Located at the outer limit of the Abruzzo National Park. In secondary valleys there are Forca d'Acero and Prati di Mezzo (Picinisco), ski resorts and summer resorts.

10 km from Sora there is the lake of Posta Fibreno, established as a nature reserve.

Monti Ernici and Simbruini

From Alatri The state road 155 reaches Fiuggi, spa renowned among the Romans.

If instead we take the SS411 we will cross Guarcino (23 km) from which a road departs for Campocatino, a winter sports center in the Ernici Mountains at an altitude of 1,800 m. Follow the localities of Arcinazzo Romano (46 km) and its plateaus full of vacationers in the summer, Affile (48 km), now in province of Rome is Subiaco 55 km from Frosinone and 68 from capital.

Other centers in the area are Trevi (45 km), small village dominated by the Caetani castle and Fillet at 1,065 m. of altitude. In the vicinity of Fillet sta Campo Staffi, a ski resort with modern ski lifts.
