Urban centers

  • Frosinone - Provincial capital Frosinone is less interesting than the two centers described above.
  • Alatri - Alatri is a large town, 13 km north of Capital. Preserves a pre-Roman acropolis and medieval churches.
  • Anagni - Homeland of Boniface VIII, Anagni has preserved its historic center intact and is interesting for those who are passionate about art.
  • Aquino - Aquino is a small town on the highway Rome-Naples which has retained some evidence of its glorious past.

Itineraries

On the Via Casilina

Via Casilina, one of the ancient consular roads, closely follows the route of the A1 from Rome to Naples. Assuming you travel it from Rome we will meet the following centers in order: Anagni, Ferentino, Frosinone, Aquino, Cassino.

Frosinone-Sora

From the capital you take the freeway to Sora, which then continues to the Val Roveto in Abruzzo. On secondary branches there are 3 small towns that appear in the ranking of the most beautiful villages in Italy. These are in succession:

10 km from Sora there is the lake of Posta Fibreno, established as a nature reserve.

Monti Ernici and Simbruini
