Gabes is a town located at the bottom of the Gulf of Gabès, on the Central coast of the Tunisia. This is the last stop on the southbound railway line. Most tourists pass through Gabes on their way to another city.

The city of Gabès is not of great tourist interest, but it is a good base for exploring the hinterland.
To go
By the road :
- From Tunis and Sousse, take the A1 motorway to Sfax, then continue south on the RN 1 road.
- Of Kairouan, take the RN 2 road, quite narrow and very busy, heading south. AT Skhira, you join the RN 1 road, which you take on the right, towards the south. From there, the traffic is heavy.

Considering the size of the city and the density of traffic, the best way to get around is by taxi.
