Gammertingen is a city on the Swabian Alb.

Gammertingen is located in a landscape that was already settled in the Bronze Age, there are also traces of Roman and Alemannic settlement. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1101. Gammertingen has been known as a town since 1311; it initially belonged to the Counts of Gammertingen, later to those of Veringen, and finally to the Barons of Speth. In 1806 Gammertingen came to the principality Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, which became part of the state of Baden-Württemberg after 1945. Around 1975 the city districts became relatively small Bronnen, Feldhausen, Hardthausen, Kettenacker and Mariaberg incorporated.

The 1 Gammertingen station is on the route of the Hohenzollersche Landesbahn Railway line ZAB 2 between Hechingen and Sigmaringen. There is also a train connection with the Swabian Alb Railway to Münsingen.

The main roads are the B32 above Burladingen to Hechingen or about Veringenstadt to Sigmaringen and the B313 above Trochtelfingen and Engstingen in the direction Reutlingen.
