By train
At the 1 railway station Trains run from Gorinchem to Dordrecht and after Geldermalsen, both important transfer stations.
By bus
The bus station is right in front of the train station and is an important hub for places in the surrounding area. Most of them are not useful for the journey because they drive to small villages. Only two lines are also useful for the journey:
- 121: Gorinchem - ’s-Hertogenbosch
- 387: Gorinchem - Utrecht

From 2 Ferry dock there are ferry connections to Sleeuwijk and Woudrichem, both on the other side of the Waal in the province North Brabant and the community Altena (North Brabant) located.

Tourist Attractions
- The 1 Grote Kerk is the main church of Gorinchem. It was built in the 19th century, but the 67 m high tower, which was built in the 15th century and survived the destruction of the previous church, is much older. From May to September you can climb it every Saturday, from the top you have a beautiful view of the city.
- The 2 former town hall stands on Grote Markt (Great Market), a square that is framed by historic houses. In the meantime, the town hall has moved and the building houses it Gorcums Museum, a museum that shows exhibitions on the city's history.
- The 3 Dalempoort is the only historical city gate in the city. There is a small brick building with a clock tower above the gate.
- The downtown area of Gorinchem is from Ramparts surround. Parts were unfortunately built on, but in many places the walls are green spaces. There are cannons in several places and there are two windmills here (see below).
- The 4 Windmill De Hoop is a stone gallery Dutchman. It stands on the ramparts and can be viewed when it is turning.
- The 5 Windmill Nooit Volmaarkt stands to the north of the ramparts and houses a shop. Both are open Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- In the west of Gorinchem there are two more windmills, both of which are coker windmills: the 6 Western piers and the 7 Oostmolen. The former can be viewed by appointment.
