Goehren is a seaside resort on the east side of to reprimand South from Binz in the north of the Mönchgut peninsula, which lies in the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve. On the north side of the promontory and also south of it are beautiful beaches. The nature reserve is located south of Göhren Mönchgut.

The journey to Göhren with scheduled airplanes is quite problematic due to the distance to commercial airports. The airport is 160 km away 1 Rostock-Laage
(IATA: RLG) offers only a few scheduled flight connections. The Hamburg Airport(IATA: HAM) is 320 km that Berlin Brandenburg Airport(IATA: BER) is over 340 km away.
