The ridge of the Hainich is located in the northwest of Thuringia. The elongated ridge forms the geographical watershed between Werra and Unstrut. In terms of tourism, the ridge is the namesake for the Hainichland and the Hainich National Park.
Regions
In the west and north and the holiday region partially overlaps with the Werra Valley and the southern one Eichsfeld. In the south, the Hainich borders the Hörselberge and the western one Thuringian Forest. A further subdivision of the "Hainichland holiday region" is not carried out on Wikivoyage, as otherwise only a formal "stub" would arise.
