Hit time is a lovely town on the Werra in Thuringia. The city is about 30 km north of Eisenach at the middle Werra.

Regarding the name "Treffurt:" In the 11th century, Normannstein Castle was built to protect the three Werrafurts near Treffurt. The fords gave the city its name ("Treffurt").

By plane
There are scheduled flights airport Frankfurt(IATA: FRA), which can be reached with the ICE from / to Eisenach without having to change trains. The Leipzig Halle Airport
(IATA: LEJ) is slightly closer, but has significantly fewer connections.
The nearby Kindel airfield at Eisenach can be approached with sport planes and helicopters.
By train
The next train station with long-distance traffic connection is Eisenach (located approx. 20 km south). Treffurt no longer has a train station. The Werra Valley Railway has long been shut down.
In the street
Treffurt is on the main road . The next motorway exit is Eisenach-West (21 km).
The German half-timbered street leads through the place.
By boat
The Werra cannot be used for larger ships. But you can go on nice tours on the river by canoe or kayak. Local companies offer rental canoes and guided tours.
By bicycle
Approach via the Werratal cycle path or Unstrut-Werra cycle path possible.

- Bicycle parking - At the tourist information in the community center (Puschkinstraße 2, open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) you can find lockable bike boxes on the building (key in). So you can easily discover the old town on foot or climb to Normannstein Castle.

- 1 Normannstein Castle - The medieval castle enthroned above the village has been largely renovated since 1995. Today there is again a restaurant with guest rooms, an exhibition on the subject Werra castles over Werrafurten (open daily 11 am-5pm except Tuesdays) and a wedding room of the registry office.
- 2 Half-timbered town hall am Markt - The building has a characteristic lattice tower
- Old town - The cozy old town has numerous winding cobbled streets. In the area of the historic city center there are some beautiful half-timbered buildings to be admired (such as the 3 Slap House and the Falkenstein family). Church friends should check out the Romanesque 4 City Church of St. Boniface take a closer look with interesting interior decoration (including wooden winged altar).
- 1 Home and dream destination park - Here, as true to the original (place) signs as possible, hang from dream destinations around the world. The dream destination can also be "around the corner" at home. If you want, you can hang your dream destination (regardless of whether you have already traveled or not) as a sign. The sign system is located in Goethestrasse between the pharmacy and the primary school (directly on the Werratal cycle path).

- Hero stone (approx. 6 km to the west) - mountain with lookout points or tower in the area of the former inner-German border. The mountain slopes steeply towards the Werra with stone walls.
- The church, which was surrounded on three sides by the inner-German border during the GDR era, is also nearby 5 St. Boniface in Großburschla, a remarkable building that is one of the best preserved Romanesque buildings in the Wartburg district.
- Wanfried - Half-timbered town like Treffurt, an ideal destination for a bike tour on the Werra Valley bike path (approx. 12 km one way).
- Draisine rides on the Kanonenbahn (about 15 km north in Lengenfeld unterm Stein) - With 4 tunnels and a large viaduct the "Adventure Draisine Kanonenbahn" in Eichsfeld, Thuringia, is one of the most attractive routes in Germany.
