Haiterbach is a small town in the south of the Heckengäus at the transition to Northern Black Forest.

The place Haiterbach was first mentioned in a document in 1099, it has had city rights since 1349. In 1936 Altnuifra was incorporated, Beihingen and Unterschwandorf were incorporated in 1972, Oberschwandorf followed in 1975.

The neighboring towns Egenhausen, Altensteig, Rohrdorf and Nagold belong to the district of Calw, Pfalzgrafenweiler, Waldachtal and Horb are in the Freudenstadt district.
