Nagold is a city in Nagoldtal on the edge of the northern Black Forest

The city of Nagold lies on the edge of the Northern Black Forest towards the Heckengäu in the district of Calw. The first traces of settlement date from the Celtic period, there are traces of Roman and Alemannic settlement. The place was first mentioned in a document in 786. In 1363 the city of Nagold became the property of Württemberg. In 1981 Nagold received the status of a major district town. In 2012, the city of Nagold hosted the Baden-Württemberg State Horticultural Show.

The districts belong to the city of Nagold Emmingen, Gündringen, Hochdorf, Iselshausen, Mindersbach, Pfrondorf, Schietingen and Vollmaringen.

Neighboring places are Haiterbach, Rohrdorf, Ebhausen, Wildberg, Jettingen, Mötzingen, Rottenburg, Eutingen and Horb.

Nagold is on the route of the Cultural railway, also under the previous name Nagold Valley Railway known.

By bus

From the S-Bahn station Herrenberg there is an express bus with a direct connection to the S1 coming from Stuttgart. Travel time about 20 minutes. Tickets from the VVS transport association are valid here.

The next motorway junction is junction 29 Rottenburg at the A81.The city is on the B28 between Freudenstadt and Herrenberg and at the B463 between Pforzheim and Horb
