Regions and places

The Nagoldtal forms the border between Northern Black Forest in the west and Heckengäu in the East. The Nagold rises near Besenfeld in the Freudenstadt district and flows into Pforzheim in the Enz.

  • Pforzheim: The main road leads here B463 to the south into the Nagoldtal. The Würm flows into the Pforzheim area.
  • Bad Liebenzell, a health resort, thermal bath, mineral fountain. To the west of it lies the health resort of Schömberg
  • Calw, District town with over 23,000 inhabitants, the old town well worth seeing, Hermann-Hesse-Museum and birthplace of the poet, last but not least the district Hirsau with the remains of two monasteries.
  • Bad Teinach-Zavelstein, Health resort, mineral spring and ruins of a Stauferburg.

  • Nagold with the Hohennagold ruins and the Steinhaus local history museum
  • Altensteig with museum in the old castle
  • Seewald: The Nagold rises here and is immediately dammed up in the Nagold reservoir a short time later
