Illingen (Wuerttemberg) is a municipality on the southern edge of the Strombergs in Baden-Wuerttemberg.
background
history Illingen was first mentioned in writing in 766 in the so-called Lorsch Codex. There is talk of Illinois bucket marca, which shows Illingen as the eponymous suburb of a Urmark. During the time of the tribal duchies, the place belonged to the Duchy of Franconia. In the late Middle Ages, Illingen belonged to the territory of the Counts of Calw. They stayed in power for over 200 years until 1260. Illingen then came to the county of Vaihingen. In the end, the Count of Württemberg emerged victorious from bitter wars between the Counts of Württemberg, the Count Palatine of Tübingen, the Counts of Calw and Vaihingen.
