The Lake Iseo (Italian Lake Iseo) is in northern Italy. With a length of 25 km, it is the fourth largest body of water in Northern Italy.
Regions
The upper part of the lake and the west bank are mainly characterized by a small stretch of coast that is bordered by mountains. These include the Monte Guglielmo (1,957 m above sea level) and between the Zone and Marone the Monte Bronzone (1,334 m above sea level). Characteristic of the upper part of the lake, especially between Riva di Solto and Castro, are the gorges: vertical rock slabs that tower above the water.
There are several islands in the lake, the largest by far is the Monte Isola, which rises a good 400 m above the lake level and can be reached from several places on the lake via ferries.

Regular events
- Settimana della Tinca al Forno con Polenta. In mid-July Clusane the traditional culinary event Settimana della Tinca al Forno con Polenta takes place, at which all affiliated restaurants offer their own recipe for baked tench with polenta.
- Santa Croce. It only takes place every 5 years in September (most recently in 2015) in the village Carzano the feast of Santa Croce takes place. The entire place is decorated with paper flowers for the occasion. The festival goes back to a cure for the plague in the Middle Ages, when a mother donated a sea of flowers to thank her son, who was well cared for in Carzano. Heard in festive years Santa Croce one of the most important attractions in northern Italy and is very popular, especially on weekends.

In the villages around the lake you can see freshwater fish such as agoni (sarde di lago), Chub, tench, white fish and perch. Typical fish dishes are fried fish from the lake and baked tench with polenta.
The specialty are dried sardines (agoni). After more than two days in the salt, they are hung up to dry in the open air for a month. Only fish caught between December and March are used for drying.

The Franciacorta wineries, in the south of Lake Iseo around Erbusco, produce many excellent wines. The region has received the controlled and guaranteed designation of origin DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata).
