Kashubia is shaped by hundreds of lakes and moraine hills from the Ice Age and is ideal for water sports. Most of the great lakes are connected to rivers, so that canoeists and sailors have access to a large network of waterways. The name Kashubia goes back to the West Slavic tribe of the Kashubians, who since the 5th / 6th Century lived in this area.

Kashubian Lake District
The Kashubian Lake District consists of a large number of lakes in a moraine landscape. Characteristic of this landscape are glacial channels between the hills, created by the erosive effect of the meltwater when the glaciers melted, which later took up the lakes. The Kashubian Lake District is higher up than the Pojezierze Starogardzkie, which is adjacent to the south. The highest moraines are up to 329 meters above sea level. The Kashubian Lake District drains into the Vistula or directly to the Baltic Sea. The rivers of the region include Radaune, Rheda, Leba, Motlawa, heel and Stumble.
