Kelbra is a small town in the Golden floodplain in the Mansfeld country. It is centrally located in Germany on the northern edge of the Kyffhauser. The southern Harz extends on the north side of the Golden Aue. The incorporated places Tilleda, Sittendorf and Thürungen belong to Kelbra.

The town of Kelbra itself has no special sights. The tourist value lies more in the very good location. From here you can go hiking or cycling. The reservoir is used by many water sports enthusiasts and Bird watchers visited. The location also allows excursions to the many surrounding cultural sights.

The on-call bus (also known as hiking bus: Tel. 01805-331010) must be ordered no later than two hours (as of 2015 season) before the departure specified in the timetable! The best thing to do is to have the bus driver give you the mobile number in the call center.
