Kernels in the Rems Valley is a municipality on the northern edge of the Virgin forest. It is only 10 km from the state capital Stuttgart.

background

Kernen im Remstal was created in 1975 as part of the community reform through the merger of the communities of Stetten and Rommelshausen. The community was named after the highest point in the Schurwald, the 513 meter high Kernen.Due to its convenient location, the district of Rommelshausen has developed into an industrial and residential area. Its beginnings go back to 1146, when it was mentioned in a deed of donation as "Rumoldeshusen". Due to its scenic location, the district of Stetten is a much-visited place for relaxation and wine.
