The adventure park

The park was founded in 1929 as Altweibermühle. This makes it the oldest amusement park in Germany. The founder, Eugen Fischer, followed a legend with the opening of the Altweibermühle slide, and even back then it was a source of amusement for the population. Together with a dance floor and rural gastronomy, the place quickly developed into a popular destination. To date, the park has grown gently to 77 hectares and is now home to over 100 attractions for families.

The wilderness paradise

After the Second World War, a petting zoo was added to the adventure park. In 1972 a near-natural wildlife park, the Wildparadies, opened just a 10-minute walk away. Primarily native animal species live here on 35 hectares of mixed forest, some in outdoor enclosures. Every day, except on Fridays, there is a feeding round for visitors, during which the behavior of various predators can be closely observed. The tour leads to the European wolves, lynxes, wild cats, brown bears and arctic wolves and starts at 2:30 p.m. A falconry is also part of the wildlife park. Flight demonstrations take place here after the feeding round at 3:30 p.m. The nature educational offer also includes the forest adventure path and the barefoot path. An adventure playground and the petting zoo complete the options for children. Central in the forest there is a rustic gastronomy that Wildsau tavern as well as open grilling areas for barbecuing yourself.
