Ilsfeld is a municipality in the Schozachtal in the district of Heilbronn in Baden-Wuerttemberg.

background

The place Ilsfeld was mentioned in a document in 1102 when it was donated to the diocese of Speyer. As early as 1157 it became Swabian again and remained so.

In 1904 there was a fire disaster when over 130 houses were burned. Most of the newly built buildings afterwards are in Art Nouveau built.

The formerly independent communities Schozach and Auenstein as well as the hamlet of Helfenberg belong to Ilsfeld.

The neighboring towns Neckarwestheim, Lauffen, Talheim, Untergruppenbach, Abstatt and Beilstein lie in Heilbronn district, is southern neighbor Grossbottwar in the Ludwigsburg district.
