Kirchheim am Neckar is a community in Neckar basin on the southeastern edge of the Stromberg and is located in the Ludwigsburg district.

Kirchheim was first mentioned in a document in 1003. Around 1400 the place became part of Württemberg. For a long time the place was dominated by agriculture, and viticulture was an essential branch of business. Wine is still grown today, the grapes are mostly grown in the Stromberg winery Bönnigheim The place is conveniently located on the left bank of the Neckar and has developed into a popular residential community in the greater Stuttgart-Ludwigsburg-Heilbronn area after the Second World War.
