Beilstein (Württemberg) is a town in the district of Heilbronn in the region Heilbronner Land.

background

The town is located on the southern edge of the Heilbronn district and is the Bottwartal assigned. The city is made up of the village of Beilstein and Hohenbeilstein, and the formerly independent village of Schmidhausen has been part of this since 1971. Beilstein also includes the hamlets of Etzlensendung, Farnersberg, Stocksberg, Billenstadt, Gagernberg and a few other places to live; they are located in the Löwensteiner Berge area.

Neighboring places are Ilsfeld, Abstatt, Lion's Arch, Desert red, Oberstenfeld and Grossbottwar.

Beilstein itself was probably founded around 1080 below Hohenbeilstein Castle, then fell to the Margraves of Baden in 1234, and in 1304 Beilstein came into the possession of Count Eberhard II of Württemberg.

The originally agricultural place has developed into a popular residential community. Viticulture is still important, in the area of ​​the town there are 2 km² of vineyards.
