Laufach is a Lower Franconian municipality in Spessart with the districts Laufach, Hain i.Spessart and Frohnhofen.

Laufach is first mentioned in the 11th century. After belonging to the Electorate of Mainz, it has belonged to Bavaria since 1814. A town partnership with the French community has existed for over 30 years Ste.-Eulalie in the Gironde near Bordeaux.
