By plane

Airport Jože Pučnika is located approximately 26 km north of the center of Ljubljana. Direct flights to Ljubljana are provided by LOT from Of Warsaw (once a day)(as of: Feb 2019).

The airport is also the main base for Adria airline to fly from there to Amsterdam, Belgrade, Brussels, Copenhagen, Istanbul, London (Gatwick) Moscow (Sheremetievo), Munich, Paris, Podgorica, Prague, Pristina, Sarajevo, Skopje, Tel Aviv, Tirana, Vienna and Zurich. Finnair operates connections to Helsinki.

By car

By car, the best way to go is through the Czech Republic (Ostrava, Brno) and Austria (Vienna, Graz). From Austria or a shorter route via Maribor, or longer by Villach (on this route, an additional fee is charged through the tunnel on the Slovenian-Austrian border). Please note that in both the Czech Republic and Austria, vignettes will be required.

When choosing a car as a means of transport, remember about parking restrictions. Only short-term parking is allowed in the city center - parking tickets are for periods from 30 to 120 minutes and after that time you need to buy another one. It is not possible to pay for a parking space for the whole day.

By rail

The Czech Railways offer the closest to Poland a trip to Ljubljana. On the route Praha Hl. N. - Ljubljana runs daily Jože Plečnik train. Travel time is approximately 12 hours.

By bus

There are no direct regular bus services between Poland and Ljubljana. The easiest way to travel is by lines belonging to Flixbus, with a change in Vienna, Budapest or Zagreb. In this way, we will get, among others With Krakow or Katowice. Travel time from Krakow is 14-17 hours(as of: Feb 2019).

Communication

Ljubljanski potniški promet (LPP) operates city buses in Ljubljana on 42 lines. Buses run quite frequently (every 5 - 15 minutes on weekdays and every 20 - 30 minutes on weekends).

To use public transport in Ljubljana you must first purchase Urbana card. It is available in most kiosks, LPP points of sale, post offices and tourist information centers. The cost of the card is € 2. After purchasing the card, it should be "charged" up to 50 €. "Erasing" the ticket consists in putting the card to the reader next to the driver, in the first door of the bus. When the green light comes on, it means that you can take a seat in the vehicle. The ticket costs € 1.20 and is valid for 90 minutes, regardless of the number of changes.

Urban cards bought at tourist information centers can be returned and refunded 2 €.
